Choosing a short mens hairstyle to have which best suits the type of glasses you have can be tricky. I know how it feels as I wear glasses as well, sometimes i’ll wear contact lenses but most of the time I wear glasses.
This article entitled short hairstyles with glasses for men aims to showcase that actually wearing glasses can look really good. Off course, it is dependent on the type of haircut you have, you don’t want to have long hair and hide the fact that you wear glasses, glasses have been around for such along time (invention of eyeglasses was around 1286 to be precise) that we need to celebrate the practicality of them.
Its a no brainer that having a short haircut really helps make wearing glasses easy and comfortable. I’ve selected below a series of pictures which should give you a indication as to what works. Obviously we all have a different shaped head and our face lengths differ, if the contour of your face is long then perhaps a pair of glasses with a bigger lens may work. Big lenses are proving to be rather popular at the moment.
The first photo below shows the gentleman showcasing a easy to maintain haircut which is cut short on the sides and has a styled quiff at the front. I’m certainly loving the subtle shaped glasses that he is wearing, with the slightly rounded edges to the frames.
The second image below shows a haircut which is very sharp on the eye. The hair grade is rather short on the sides possibly a grade 2 or 3. Like its cousin the Faux Hawk which is tapered on the side and styled into a point at the center, this style is instead shaved on the sides.
A easy to maintain haircut which can be styled in seconds, not bad if your in a rush.
The third picture in this series Short Hairstyles with Glasses for Men showcases glasses that have a more distinctive square edge to the frames. These type of glasses work if you have a wider face, higher cheek bones or a prominent chin.
I rather like the natural feel and look to the haircut on this chap, there’s minimal effort in styling the front to form the quiff. The height of the quiff helps to elongate his face a little bit as its a tad round. If you like to wear a quiff when styling your hair i’d suggest checking out the first two picks in my other article which you can discover by clicking here.
With the fourth pic below I thought seeing as we don’t just wear black frames an example of a blue colored frame would help you to decide whether a touch color could really help an image change. Personally i’m all for frames that aren’t just black, I myself have frames that have a touch of green to the sides. Black frames can often look too depressing depending on whether you have frames that are rather thick.
A touch of color certainly works on this guy because he has dark hair, which means by wearing vibrant blue frames he looks more alive and possibly more approachable. Its often a common site to see people wear bright framed sun glasses at the beach nowadays or at festivals so these frames in the fourth picture are certainly in keeping with the latest trends at the moment.
Finally, with the fifth pic below I’ve gone for a more James Dean look with the hair and a more Harry Potter look with the glasses and I personally think that this image works. Its not for everyone and it would be interesting to see if anyone sports an image like this. Its certainly a cool look!
There is obviously a lot of different frames out there on the market to choose from. I’d suggest going into an eye specialist and sample their glasses, that way, once you have found a pair you like then you can work out what style of haircut you will need to get.
